A haven for travelers seeking nutritious and hearty meals, The Skinny Pancake boasts a menu that revolves around fresh crepes, paninis, and a delightful array of local Vermont ingredients, making it a standout choice amongst airport eateries.
As you traverse the bustling terminal, it’s impossible to miss the inviting aroma of crepes wafting through the air. Early risers rave about the restaurant's prompt service, with customers like Puerto Yorker showcasing their enthusiasm, even at the unholy hour of 5:40 AM. Their vegan options transcend mere “nods” to dietary needs; instead, they offer hearty alternatives crafted to satisfy. Such attention to detail is a true testament to the establishment’s commitment to quality.
The menu’s highlights include the famed Noah’s Ark crepe and the tantalizing pulled pork Johnny Crepe. These dishes are celebrated for their unique flavors and clever combinations. Jessica Heidt's experience with the Chicken Caesar wrap further emphasizes the establishment's flair — her surprise at being served a light crepe wrap underscores the creativity behind every dish. Here, food does not just fill your stomach; it prepares you for the journey ahead.
While reviews point to some occasional inconsistencies in food quality and portion sizes, the overwhelming sentiment leans towards praise. Diners note how The Skinny Pancake compensates for these minor mishaps with friendly and attentive service. Chris Evans shared his delight in grabbing a warm crepe before heading off to Europe, proving that comfort and taste can indeed go hand in hand — even in an airport setting.
In a venue where options post-security can often be limited, The Skinny Pancake BTV Airport stands out not only for its delicious offerings but also for its ability to cater to diverse dietary preferences, including gluten-free and vegan selections. So, whether you are reluctantly waiting for your flight or just passing through, allow yourself the pleasure of indulging in a meal that can only be described as a reminder of home-grown Vermont flavors. This is not just airport food; it’s an elevated dining experience that deserves a spot on any foodie's itinerary.
“ So, so delicious! Open so early (writing this as I eat at 5:40am), fresh, hearty, delicious food, service was alert and friendly and on it.....can't say enough good things. Oh and we had the vegan option and it was SO much more than a "nod" - it was hearty and fantastic. 5 stars all around, thank you guys!!! ”
“ The Chicken Caesar wrap was great! I love the light crepe wrap, even though I wasn’t expecting it. It was scrumptious and didn’t feel too “heavy” before traveling. There are a lot of other things I want to try, but it’ll have to wait until I fly back this way ”
“ The Skinny Pancake at Burlington International Airport offers a convenient dining option for travelers, featuring a menu centered around crepes, paninis, and local Vermont ingredients. Popular items include the Noah’s Ark crepe and the pulled pork Johnny Crepe. The restaurant also provides gluten-free and vegan options, catering to various dietary needs . While many patrons appreciate the friendly service and fresh offerings, some have noted inconsistencies in food quality and portion sizes. There are reports of overcooked items and unexpected service charges . Despite these concerns, the establishment remains a favored choice for its early opening hours and the lack of alternative dining options post-security. ”
“ Food was excellent. They were out of a lot of side items weirdly and it took my a long time to sort that. I had paid for one thing and then when they didn’t have it I kept saying I’d take something else. But there were out of everything. So I settled on a pastry. Since I could see it was in stock. The food itself was excellent. ”
“ I love our little airport even with the new security maze. Made it through quickly and got some yummy skinny pancake before heading to Europe. Got my fix of coffee and crepes. Was hoping for a Fiddlehead or an Edward, however, the bar was closed and I had to settle for a shot of maples syrup. ”
“ This place is great. One of my top 5 airport eateries (within an average person’s price range). I didn’t think to take a pic until finished eating - there was so much YUMMY food. I got the Vegan and it was AMZING. Totally recommend 10/10! ”
“ This was the only restaurant we found in the airport after we went through security, and fortunately, it was really good! The skinny pancake is really a crepe. We had just had a lunch of crepes at Creperie Chez Suzette in Montreal (price were 20 for two crepes in your entree/dessert), so we rounded out the day with a dinner of crepes at Skinny Pancake. We shared the Johnny Crepe - maple BBQ pulled pork, caramelized onion, cheddar cheese in a cornmeal crepe with a side of coleslaw and BBQ sauce. It came with one crepe for a little over 15. It was really delicious! We also got the Beets & Sweets - roasted beets, sweet potatoes with Vermont Creamery chevre and local honey. With the late lunch, it was enough to share and keep us filled. You need to order food at the bar or front counter since there is no waitstaff to take your order at the tables. Order alcoholic drinks at the bar. You can sit at the bar or at a the table. We already had a tab open at the bar, so we ordered with the bartender who gave us a number and someone brought the food to us at the table. For the menu, there are other savory or meat crepes, vegetarian and vegan crepes, one salad, burgers, fries, breakfast, and dessert or sweet crepes. Of course, they serve Vermont beers. ”
“ food exceeded my expectations, vegan crepe option very good, very flavorful, wait for food can be long, but that’s to be expected as it’s currently the only restaurant option in the btv terminal, good for breakfast and lunch, attentive staff ”
